Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros

Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros Join us on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library Branch (18601 Soledad Canyon Road) for this awesome cultural celebration! Also known as Day of the Children/Day of the Books, Día de los Niños honors children, promotes literacy and celebrates the joy of reading through culture, creativity and community connection. This beloved annual event welcomes families from across Santa Clarita to come together and experience a morning centered around learning and imagination. This year’s theme, “Unearth Your History,” invites attendees to explore the past through hands-on activities, cultural performances and interactive experiences designed for all ages. Families will enjoy a variety of crafts that encourage creativity and discovery, including making paper cacti, designing paper dresses and building dinosaur-themed popsicle stick creations. Live entertainment will bring energy and tradition to the celebration, featuring a performance by Ballet Folklórico dancers. Guests can also enjoy festive face painting fun from Painted Monkeys, a Santa Clarita-based entertainment group, during the event. Día de los Niños continues to highlight the Library’s commitment to early literacy and lifelong learning by creating meaningful opportunities for families to engage with books, culture and each other. The event blends education with entertainment, reinforcing the importance of reading while celebrating the diverse traditions that shape the community.
